I mean really what is the logic in forcing people to dock to save. No big deal, but it is when you've just spent 15 minutes flying to the mission location and you die you want to scream. NUMBER 1 is the inability to save in space. But I'm done, there are just too many painful and annoying things with the game. Massive universe, incredibly diverse numbers of ships and ways of playing the game. Yep I tried this game, again and again and again. I'm sure it gets better once you get factories set up and can manufacture your own goods but getting to that point is a monumental task if you have a life away from your computer. You'll be banging your head against a wall after a while. Do you have a small carrier with a few fighters ready to engage in battle? Guess what? Each ship requires different weapons that have to be bought at different locations that never have any in stock. Everything you need in the game is always manufactured 5-10 sectors away and they are usually out of stock after you spend 10-15 minutes of research and travel just to get there. The interface and menu screens, and the amount of micro managing you have to do. This leads me to the biggest problems with this game. Combat can be fun if you can figure out what weapons you need in order to fight different opponents and find them somewhere that actually has them in stock. The concept is great and the developers did an exceptional job creating a vast and expansive universe. In a game where you have the potential to gain so much wealth, and power it would be silly to not have difficult missions that cannot be completed in the first hour of play. Also the game has many features that make these seemingly impossible missions possible for advanced players. These missions change regularly allowing you to pick and choose ones right for you at any given time. Well there are more than 100 sectors most with multiple mission at any given time. Someone mentioned getting missions he could not complete in time. You can buy it in quantities >1k which means you can go 100's of game hours without even needing to restock. There is an in game item called salvage issurance which is cheap, and allows you to save any time. For instance a few people mentioned no being able to save in space. Many of the issues people complain as being bugs are actually complexities added into the game. For one thing, while the game offers lots of options for open ended play, I wish there was a more compelling story line.Īfter reading a number of reviews of this game I have some more comments. There are some things I think this game could improve upon. There are just so many things that make this game amazing. Trading is multi dimensional in a way few if any games have ever rivaled. X3 Also has an incredibly in dept economy. Ship to ship boarding (awesome feature can be frustrating). Ranging from small fighters, to huge capital ships. Yet with lots of resources for information in game, and especially on the egosoft forum people who want to delve deep into X3 have the ability to do so. People are not forced to know everything to play. I think that the beauty of it is how you start out so humbly which makes the game not overly complex in the early stage. X3: Terran Conflict Well first off let me just say this is a very complex game.
